For the total defence competition, we have decided to protect the nation. For thirteen or more years (for some of us) its has sheltered us, and provided us with lodging. As a part of the total defence, it is our responsibility to protect the nation, our home land(:

However, we have decided to be more specific with our thoughts. Although the main idea is to protect the nation, there is still many different aspects within the nation that we wish to look out for. Thus, we have branched out into three main factors, chosen by our teammates.

The first factor, is about protecting Singapore, the nation. Reason being, without Singapore, we also won’t be where we are today, with comfortable lodging and food to eat everyday, we might not even survive if we’re living on the streets of other countries. Singapore is one of the safest countries, and it is devoid of riots, unlike some countries, like Taiwan and Thailand. The food in Singapore is also safe from being contaminated, and Singapore has high health standards. Also, being located in such a prominent area, we are not affected by natural disasters. In Si Chuan China, when the disastrous earthquake occurred, many died. The consequences were dire. We are very lucky living here in Singapore, thus, its one of our main priorities to protect.

The second factor, is our family and friends. They have always been by our side, supporting us no matter what. Without them, our live will lose its spice and there would be no warmth. No words of encouragement when we feel despondent, no helping hand to pull you up when we fall. Family and friends house us in a haze of care and concern, to make us feel loved and not left out or isolated. They are important figures in our live, so, we must protect them, and not let them fall within the hallows of death of injuries.

The third factor, is to protect the racial harmony amongst all Singaporeans. If we start being racist against one another, riots might start to break out and the whole country will be in chaos. Should that happen, we will no longer be united, and we’ll be unable to protect Singapore, if we can’t even resolve the internal problems within. There are many different religions in Singapore. If one day, all the religions fall apart and go against one another, it would be terrible, won’t it?

Hi, welcome to 2 Courage total defence blog. I am Lim Jia Qi from 2 Courage. This year is very different from before. the reason is Singapore or the whole world is encountering recession the our country has suffered serious economic crisis. A lot of people are retrenched. It sounds very scary but it is true. This is a type of defence too. What is this defence called? It is called economic defence. Everybody does not take this defence to heart but now it is the time to use this defence already. We must defence our country against this crisis. When we defence against this crisis, we must also protect our loved ones not to make themselves vulnerable for this crisis. When we defence others, we will also automatically defence ourselves. This is a type of protection. Only protecting yourself and your loved ones, you then can protect the nation. This is a kind of link and is important for everyone to know. Protect yourselves ----> Protect loved ones----> Protect nation. I believe if everyone does this link,Singapore can be a very strong country that nothing can affect our country's defence. Thank you!
